I had a great stay at this hotel in the city center. The location on a central square in the very modern city of Essen was perfect. The rooms were clean and functional, with a proper bathroom and nice view of Kennedy Platz. The acoustic isolation was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The breakfast served was optional but definitely worth it.
Everything was perfect.

On our last night in Essen we asked at reception if there was a computer we could use in order to print off our boarding passes for the following morning. The girl on reception told us that unfortunately there wasn't a computer available. She then logged on to our airline website and printed our boarding passes for us. When we asked about the possibility of getting a train the next morning to go back to Dusseldorf airport, she then went online and looked up and printed off the train timetable for us. We were both extremely impressed with her friendliness and the fact that she completely went out of her way to help us. Neither of us had seen a computer in the lobby of the hotel and so had resigned ourselves to having to go to the airport earlier the next morning to check-in - we were completely surprised that the girl did all the work for us!!!!!
Neither of us would have any complaints to make about the hotel except maybe that there is no restaurant. The hotel isn't open all that long so perhaps that may be the reason why a restaurant hasn't opened yet. However it didn't make any difference to us as there are a lot of places to eat in the area.

This is a brilliant hotel! The service is impeccable, the rooms big, clean and new, the decor beautiful and the bathroom roomy. The only downside is that there is no fridge in the room. Breakfast was basic but delicious =) I had forgotten my engagement and wedding rings in the room, and they promptly found them and send them back to my home address =) AWESOME!

We stayed in this hotel that is built into a 50's insurance company's building. The central staircase, a beautiful reminder of its heritage, adds a unique touch to the design. Our room had a nice view of Essen's city square and comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast served in the spacious lobby area was both cheap and delicious. The friendly front desk service and available parking added to the convenience. I highly recommend Motel One for its great value for money, convenient location, and stylish design.

Location! Location! Location! Price is great. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice lounge. I'd stay there again if I was in Essen.
Typical Motel One -- not enough space to hang clothes in the room. Breakfast room was very crowded on a Sunday morning. Had room above Lounge, a tad loud

This hotel is located in the heart of Essen, on a central square. The location is ideal, with shops, restaurants, and bars just a short walk away. The rooms are small but new, and the beds are comfortable with two sizes of pillows. The bathroom is functional and there is a small desk for working. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and has good acoustic isolation, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay. Guests can enjoy a great view of the city from their rooms, adding to the overall experience. The breakfast served at the hotel is decent, with a variety of options including bread, cheese, salami, and cereal.
All was good, nothing to complain about.

Convenient and clean hotel
Stayed in a hotel located in the heart of a pedestrianized shopping district. It was close to public transit and an easy walk to underground stations and train stations. The staff was helpful and friendly during my stay. The room was clean, with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. I appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi and the wide variety of channels available on the television. a hearty breakfast was available each morning at a reasonable price.
While the hotel was convenient, it did not offer many extracurricular facilities for guests. Although an in-room tea and coffee making facility would have been much appreciated.

The hotel had a great location, very close to the city center and with easy access to public transportation. The rooms were small but cozy, and the beds were comfortable. One positive aspect was the friendly staff, who were always happy to help with any questions we had. the breakfast offered a good variety of food options.
The hotel seemed to have some maintenance issues. The shower head was loose, and some of the tiles in the bathroom were cracked.
